Board meetings
Multidisciplinary meetings or medical boards are very important in today’s medicine. The patient file is discussed at the multidisciplinary meeting, making the best decision for the patient, taking into account all medical aspects. The patient does not have to go from doctor to doctor to get a result. On the contrary, the patient has a very clear treatment plan from the beginning.
In our clinic there are held three different conditions board meetings:
neurooncology
brain tumors such as glioblastomas, meningiomas, cerebral metastases, lymphomas
neuroendocrinology
pituitary adenomas secreting hormones ACTH, GH, TSH, prolactin and sex hormones that cause diseases such as Cushing's disease, acromegalia etc. Also large-sized adenomas compress the optic chiasm generating visual disturbances, especially visual field amplitudes (the patient's field of vision narrows very much to blindness)
